Hindu Students Council (HSC) is a platform at college
levels to promote Hindu values. More than a decade old, the forum has expanded
from a group of few committed volunteers to include thousands of students, both
Hindus and non-Hindus, in over seventy campuses nationwide today.
Hitesh Divecha, Payal Shah, Arti Divecha, Bhavin Divecha,
and Smiral Saheba have taken the initiative to reorganize the HSC chapter in
the

"The values of Hindu dharma shall be cherished and preserved for eternity. It is not a just a religion; it's rather a way of life and every Hindu heart should be aware of this. I definitely consider the presence of HSC essential at our University", says Payal, vice-president of the chapter.
Currently, the chapter has a membership of about 30 and meets every Thursday afternoon. Apart from their regular meetings, the chapter plans to hold seminars, host special events and perform community service to enlighten the minds of its members with new, interesting, and essential facts about Hindu dharma.
“We want to provide opportunities to our members to learn about Hindu heritage through various activities, events and projects”, says Arti, secretary of the chapter.
“Unfortunately it seems that we are losing awareness about our tradition from one generation to another” continues Payal, “and in a country that is so far away from India, if we do not make conscious efforts we might lose it even before we know”.

“Our religion is a part of our identity; we believe that HSC will allow us to learn more about ourselves and who we are”, says Bhavin, the treasurer of the chaper.
“HSC is certainly not exclusive for Hindus but is meant for anyone who wants to experience the values of Hindu dharma, feel complete and content with who they are and where they come from”, continues Hitesh, “We are here to spread the wealth, the wealth of Hinduism.”
